Cloud Computing

April 3, 2012 in April Events, Uncategorized

This week we will be having Larry Brandolph to talk to us about cloud computing and virtualization. Mr. Brandolph is currently the Associate Vice President of Computer Service, Infrastructure and CISO at Temple University. Prior to that he was the head of distributed computing services at Cigna where he overused all administrative and operational activities of the computer services.

Being well versed in cloud computing will be a key skill employers will look for. Cloud computing can help a business grow and become more organized which in turn will save money. Learning about virtualization will give a background on how cloud computing operates since virtualization plays a key role for meeting some of the characteristics of cloud like elasticity and scalability, workload migration and resiliency.

The meeting will be held in Alter 231 at 12PM

Food and beverages will be served after the meeting in Speakman 207
